Who we are

Kids in Business is an Australian children's entrepreneurship and financial education platform. Our website is kidsinbusiness.com.au and our course app is at app.kidsinbusiness.com.au.

What information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us including:

• When you register for early access: your name, email address, number of children, children's ages, and your goals for the course.
• When you create a course account: your name, email address, and password. If you create a child profile we collect the child's first name and age.
• When you contact us: your name, email address, and message content submitted through our contact form.
• When you apply to become a KidsMart organiser: your name, contact details, location information, identification document, and information about your community and experience.
• When you register interest as a KidsMart stall holder: your name, email, suburb, postcode, child's age, and what you plan to sell.
• When your child uses the course: we collect activity responses, progress data, and conversations with Spark our AI thinking coach. This data is stored against your child's profile and is used solely to personalise and improve their learning experience.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the Kids in Business course and platform
• Send you updates about your early access registration and course launch
• Communicate with you about KidsMart markets and organiser applications
• Improve our course content and platform
• Respond to your enquiries

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.

We do not share your personal information with third parties except where necessary to operate our services, including our hosting provider Supabase, our payment processor Stripe, and our AI provider Anthropic which powers the Spark thinking coach.

Children's privacy

We take children's privacy seriously. Child profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verified parental consent.

Parents can view, edit, or delete their child's profile and all associated data at any time through the parent dashboard.

Spark conversations are stored to provide continuity of learning across the course. Parents can view a summary of their child's Spark interactions through the Parent Spark report on the parent dashboard.

We do not use children's data for advertising purposes. We do not share children's data with third parties for marketing.

AI and Spark

Our AI thinking coach Spark is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI model. Student conversations with Spark are processed by Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing and can be found at anthropic.com/privacy.

Spark conversations are not used to train AI models. They are stored in our database solely to provide learning continuity for your child across the course.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses essential cookies to operate correctly. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not run ads on our platform.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider with enterprise-grade security. We use industry standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account we will delete your personal data within 30 days except where we are required to retain it by law.
